Bosch Sandpaper
The latest news from Bosch is the official launch of the first complete Bosch Sandpaper Line with discs, belts, detail and quarter sheets. And the unique twist is that Bosch is changing the way they identify which sandpaper is best for a project. Rather than guessing whether a specific paper would be best for paint/coating removal, plain wood, or metal, Bosch is color coding its new line with three colors - white, red and blue. This way, all the user needs to do is select their grit and begin their project.

's programs are "designed to teach traditional woodworking techniques that have, for centuries, proven successful in building the worlds masterpieces". The school's 2005 Summer Workshop schedule has just been posted on their Web site (www.furnituremakingclasses.com). If your class is filled, be aware that there may be a few more weekend classes added to the schedule over the next few weeks. The school e-mail address is furniture@verizon.net

Also, our congratulations to the Institute's director, Phil Lowe, has been selected as the 2005 Cartouche Award recipient by the Society of American Period Furniture Makers. The AWGB are in the final planning stages for their tenth Seminar. Scheduled for August 12-14 at Loughborough University, the event will showcase the very best and most innovative woodturning in the U.K. This year's presenters include Thierry Martenon and Christophe Nancey from France, along with Nick Cook and Binh Pho from the United States, and Britain's Nick Agar, Stuart Batty, Julie Heryet, Michael OĠDonnell, Dave Reeks and David Springett. Once again, the AWGB also will be pleased to invite a guest of honour: the identity of this person will not be revealed until the Seminar gets under way. An Instant Gallery allows delegates to show their work to their peers.
An AWGB Seminar is as much a social occasion as a woodturning event. Many long lasting friendships have been forged over a glass of something cool and pleasant during long warm summer evenings in the past.

If you wish to be a part of this essential woodturning experience, visit the AWGB online at
