Multi-talented Carver
Canadian carver Robbin Wenzoski has always been involved in art in one form or another. He started out building cedar log and timberframe homes out west. Now, he does chainsaw carvings and fine sculptures on commission, including tree trunk and stump carvings on site in the client's garden, or carved off-site. Robbin also creates custom wooden signs and builds custom woodwork and antique restorations. He also has a line of custom walking sticks, and builds and repairs canoes and kayaks. Whew!

You're invited to participate in...
Birds in Art

Since 1976, the Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum has organized Birds in Art annually, seeking to present the very best contemporary artistic interpretations of birds and related subject matter. For its 30th anniversary edition, the Woodson Art Museum again invites contemporary two- and three-dimensional artists working in all mediums other than crafts and photography to submit artworks for jury consideration for Birds in Art 2005. Approximately 100 works are selected by a jury review of slides.

As the Museum's flagship exhibition, Birds in Art enables the Museum to meet its goals of presenting and collecting art of the natural world having birds as the primary or secondary focus. A fully illustrated, four-color catalogue accompanies each Birds in Art exhibition (see the past three catalog covers at right). Catalogues are available for purchase online.

In conjunction with Birds in Art, the Woodson Art Museum selects an artist to receive its Master Wildlife Artist Award. The award honors artists who have demonstrated outstanding achievement in using bird imagery in their artwork. The individual recognized as the Master Wildlife Artist is further honored by a mini-retrospective (approximately 10 to 12 artworks) during Birds in Art. Each year, 60 works are selected from Birds in Art to be included in a national or international tour. This tour considerably expands the exhibition's reach to broader audiences.

There is an April 15 Postmark deadline for images. For an entry form, visit the Museum online at http://www.lywam.org. Woodezine would like to thank Albert LeCoff of Philadephia's Wood Turning Center for bringing Birds in Art to our attention.
