Carving Tree Bark Sometimes you CAN judge a book by its cover. The fantasy world depicted on the cover of this book is a pretty good hint as to the contents. After an impressive 16-page gallery of carvings, author Jensen and photographer Williams walk you through materials and methods and finally bring you out the other side of the enchanted woods, where you find yourself on the doorstep of... Chapter 3 - Carving a whimsical house. This is a fantasic series of 132 color photos illustrating each tiny step in the process. It's like being there and watching Jensen make every cut. After a three-page review with even better photos, the guys move on to carving tree bark in the round. They discuss finishing options and the book then wraps up with several pages of patterns of woodspirits - knarled old wizards that are hiding in every piece of found wood. Thoroughly enjoyable. Where are my knives? $14.95 U.S. |
