Plywood Edge System
Here is a simple and economical way to make hardwood edge banding for plywood panels and shelves up to 3/4" thick. Set the height of the female groover (A) in your router table so that the point is centered on the plywood panel and make a cut. Now, using the male groover (B) in your router table, set the height of the bit to match the first cut and mill hardwood stock to create the back of your edge molding. Glue the two pieces together and flush trim the edges if necessary.

All bits are two flute, carbide tipped, with a 1/2" shank, and are 2-7/8" overall, with the bearing guides. $79.99 for the pair from Eagle America.

3X Sandpaper now in Belts, Discs and Spindle Sleeves
Norton's 3X Premium Sandpaper Sheets have been so successful that they are bringing that technology to high performance belts, discs and spindle sleeves. The premium belts provide ultimate performance and a superior finish. The self-sharpening zirconia alumina abrasive is resin bonded to a heavy cloth backing for durability, rapid stock removal and resistance to clogging. These belts can be run in both directions for increased sanding life. They are available in a variety of sizes and grits ranging from extra coarse to very fine. Norton 3X discs are manufactured with a blend of ceramic alumina and heat-treated aluminum oxide grain that cuts fast yet remains cool. They last longer due to the unique resin bonding system that secures the abrasive to the fiber reinforced backing and an anti-clog coating is applied. The 5" discs can be used on any random orbit sander, due to the patented universal vacuum hole pattern. They are available in grits ranging from extra coarse to extra fine. The spindle sleeves fit all manufacturer's 4-1/2" spindle sanders. Zirconia alumina is bonded to a heavy paper backing for maximum strength and durability.
