Adjustable Try Square
The Nobex Octo is an impressive new twist on traditional squares. It folds up to fit in a pocket, or opens up and sets rigidly at seven preset angles... every twenty-two degrees. This is the perfect tool for turners who enjoy segmented work, or furniture builders who like everything to be spot on - whether it's square, octagonal or somewhere in between. It's a heavy-duty tool that comes in three sizes (8, 12 and 16") and is built with a stainless steel blade with deeply etched scales, and an extruded, gold anodised aluminum handle.

This product is so new the manufacturer hadn't even uploaded info to their site (http://www.nobex.se) by the time this issue was published. It may be there now...

We found it on the Advance Machinery site at prices ranging
from $25-$35, depending on which model.

Chip Carving School
Barry McKenzie is a busy guy! He runs a school for chip carvers just outside Lebanon, Missouri, an annual festival called the All Chip Carver's Show, and he writes, edits and publishes a really comprehensive quarterly newsletter called the Chip Carver's Quarterly. OK, it's more than a newsletter - it's full color and the latest issue ran to 24 pages.

"Chip carving has grown over the past years," says Barry. "At seminars, my classes are always full. My goal in life is the preservation of chip carving as we know and practice it today."

The 8th All Chip Carvers Show will be October 9 and 10 this year in Lebanon, Missouri. It includes free demonstrations, competitions, lots of new ideas and a special appearance by Jan Hulsebos from the Netherlands to teach chip carving (classes on Oct 7-8).

Her-Saf Screw-On Router Bits
Whether rabbeting solid surface material, dadoing veneer plywood or v-grooving foam board, the newest line of Her-Saf Screw-On tooling produce clean cuts every time. An open-throat design used in both the brazed carbide and the carbide insert allows the tooling to run cooler, thus increasing the lifespan of the cutter. These router bits can be used in automated and manual machines, as well as handheld routers.

Safranek Enterprises has been manufacturing Her-Saf Panel Routers and related equipment for over 40 years.
