woodezine - Volume II - Issue VIII August 2004

Hi Folks,
Here's to the last month of freedom for our children and grandchildren this summer... and our own freedom next month!
August isn't a big woodworking month in most of the country. It's too nice outside to spend the day in a workshop or basement. But for some of us in the business of woodworking here in the States, August is a very busy month indeed. During the last week of the month, the entire professional woodworking world meets in Atlanta for the show of shows - the IWF (International Woodworking Machinery and Furniture Supply Fair). This is where all the new toys are introduced, and our editorial staff will be there to bring you all the latest news in our September issue. We'll have a whole three days between the show and the first of September to put that issue together, so I may be a little cranky this time next month...

Other than that, we have a new department in this issue called "Journeyman Jigs", where we'll profile one commercially available jig every month.

And we received several responses regarding the free classifieds this month. These are absolutely free for non-commercial readers - you can sell, buy, trade or share anything of a woodworking nature with tens of thousands of like-minded individuals all over the world, just by sending me an e-mail!

Until next month, remember to wear your safety glasses!

Take care,
John
