Powermatic will introduce its new eight-inch Parallelogram Jointer (PJ882) at the International Woodworking Fair in Atlanta this month. In addition to its unique design, it comes loaded with standard features including an extra long 82" bed. A heavy-duty tool for cabinet shops, professional woodworkers and home woodworkers, the jointer weighs in at an impressive 616 pounds. The PJ882 also offers an innovative fence design that allows the user to turn a hand wheel that tilts the fence in and out with stops at plus or minus 45 degrees and 90 degrees for exceptional control and accuracy.

An important safety feature of the PJ882 is its one-eighth-inch depth-of-cut limiter control that provides for quick adjustments and sets the maximum depth-of-cut. A knob disables this feature, providing added versatility to the professional user. The parallelogram jointer features Powermatic's controlled chip three-knife cutterhead with a speed of 7,000 RPMs to ensure safe, smooth cuts. The jointer is available in a single phase, two horsepower design or powerful three horsepower, three phase model for an MSRP of $1,849.
