Nevada State Museum presents
"Art and the Animal"

Idaho sculptor Ken Newman contacted Woodezine this month to let us know that his wood sculpture "Turbulence on Horse Creek", an otter chasing trout, is currently on display in Nevada. It is part of the 45th Annual Society of Animal Artists "Art and the Animal" exhibition at the Nevada State Museum in Carson City, an exhibition which runs through November 28th.
This international exhibit brings together 100 world renowned painters and sculptors from the United States, Canada, France, England, Australia, and the Netherlands. In addition to Ken, the list of artists includes Robert Bateman, John Banovich, Carel P. Brest van Kempen, Guy Coheleach, Janet Heaton, Marilyn Newmark, Dino Paravano, Nicholas Wilson and Victoria Parsons (see photo at right).
"Never before has the Nevada State Museum hosted a fine art exhibit of this caliber," said Jim Barmore, Museum Director.
