The Stanley Works introduced their new FatMax Short Blade Chisels this summer, and they're now available in a three- piece or six-piece set, or as nine single chisels. Each chisel features a full-length blade protector to act as a safeguard during storage. The chisels are friction welded for a stronger blade and improved performance, and their high-quality ball-bearing grade steel allows the blade to stay sharp longer (unlike forged blades). They are designed with ergonomically designed, bi-material, high-impact handles, for better comfort, grip and control during use. The handle also features a steel-striking cap, so you can hit them with a hammer instead of a mallet. They have a suggested retail price for the 3-piece set of $24.99; a six-piece set is $54.99; or you can pick them up individually from $8.99 to $14.99. New Hitachi Router comes with Two Bases
|
Hitachi Power Tools has just introduced a new 1/2" router kit, the KM12VC, which comes with both plunge (shown) and fixed bases. The new router kit reflects the aggressive new ergonomic design being implemented by Hitachi Power Tools. The motor transitions between the bases effortlessly, thanks to a tool-less release clamp. This 2-stage clamp allows fine depth adjustments to be made quickly and easily. The 11 Amp, 2-1/4 HP motor has the lowest noise level in its class (only 80 dB), and its electronic speed control maintains constant RPMs even as the load varies. The KM12VC comes complete with 1/4" and 1/2" collet chucks, wrenches, 7 template guides, template guide adapter, template guide centering adjuster, chip shield and carrying case.
