Lie Nielsen are upgrading their saw handles

Saw Handles Are Changing

Lie Nielsen handsaws and screwdrivers with curly maple handles have a new, improved finish, developed to bring out the natural figure of the wood. There's no stain, just a protective top coat that is hand buffed to a smooth lustrous finish. The saws are "exceptionally accurate, beautiful, and perfectly set". The blades are made from polished Swedish steel and tempered to Rockwell 52 for durability and ease of sharpening. The teeth have a minimum set that prevents binding while ensuring straight cuts. Solid, precision-milled brass backs stiffen the blade and add weight for well-balanced, smooth cutting. The handle is hand made for a comfortable, silky-smooth grip. Each Lie-Nielsen saw is precision hand-filed, set, and test cut in hardwood before it leaves the shop. The company offers a sharpening service for $40 that includes return shipping in the continental USA.

The flap stay controls the swing of the door's weight as the basket fills with laundry. One flap stay is included with the purchase of a Sidelines CTOHBSL hamper. The finish is chromed anodized aluminum, and the device measures 1-11/16" wide and 10-1/2" tall.

Lamello Tenso P-10 makes face frames snap together

Attaching Face Frames Made Easy

You may already own the tool needed to make quick work of attaching face frames to casework in the shop, or even on the jobsite. Colonial Saw has uploaded a video that suggests woodworkers might consider switching to the Lamello P-System, and use its connectors to attach face frames invisibly. The Zeta P2 and Tenso P-14 or P-10 connectors let an installer or cabinetmaker literally attach face frames with a snap. They can just pop the frame in place with a little hand pressure, eliminating the need to fill nail holes after attaching, or the frustration of gluing, aligning and clamping. The video shows the process. Shops can use Tenso P-14 for standard material, or the new Tenso P-10 to join beveled or mitered connections in material as thin as 9/16th (13 mm). Colonial Saw Inc. is the importer of both Swiss made Striebig vertical panel saws and Lamello specialty tools, biscuits and biscuit joiners. The company has locations in Kingston, Massachusetts and Ontario, California.

New Connector for Drilled Assembly

OVVO has introduced a new invisible push-in connector that features two self-locking-dowel shaped pins with 32mm centers. An update on the V-1230, this uses the built-in tolerance of the housing to deliver superior joint strength. The pin locations allow easy integration into any current drilling operations, and "their unique design allows easy insertion by the end user". This, in turn, allows product to be shipped without parts inserted. The bridge between the pins automatically sets a consistent depth across the joint, delivering consistent tolerance. These connectors are suitable for use in 15mm or greater thickness. At Interzum 2019, the V-1230 series won a High-Quality Product award. There's a YouTube video showing how easy this system is.

BORA® Tool's new PM-3800 high-clearance mobile base can roll over obstacles smoothly and efficiently without the risk of tipping over. Key features of the base include all-steel construction, 5-inch (12.7 cm) non-marring ball bearing wheels, and foot-operated steel locking levers.
