Apollo 7700T, The AtomiZer®

Next Generation HVLP Gun

Apollo Sprayers International, Inc. in Vista, California has released the Apollo 7700T, which the company calls the AtomiZer®. The gun works with any make of turbine or air compressor that is 3HP with a 20 gallon (75 litre) tank, or larger. It has new dual air and material inputs, and a new material adjustment knob with +/- indicators. The body is lightweight and balanced in plated matte bronze on aircraft-grade aluminum. Other innovations include an improved air distributor, and a 3-turn air cap design that makes changing nozzles and needle sizes quick and easy. There are five standard caps and three high solids caps. The gun offers precision fan control through the Xpansive™ fan control ring, and uses a new technology for atomizing particles called MicroTech™. All wetted internal parts are engineered from marine-grade stainless steel, with no O rings.

Instant Sawhorses!

Bora Tool has introduced its new PM-4500 Speedhorse™, a contractor-grade sawhorse that sets up a whole lot faster than conventional sawhorses. Simply release the legs and get to work. Installers and cabinet assemblers will appreciate how easy it is to set up, take down, and transport. Key features include the quick deploy and quick collapse legs; impressive speed - both setup and teardown take mere seconds; best-in-class weight capacity - each individual unit can support 1500 lbs; and non-sequential leg folding. To tear down your worksite, just pull the levers on each end and fold the legs up. It doesn’t matter which order. There's also a longer, pre-drilled top, which means more workspace and stability. The pre-drilled metal top allows you to screw in a 2x4 as a sacrificial top, and you can pop in longer 2x4s at the ends to make a bvase for a plywood platform.

Bora Tools' new sawhorse, the PM-4500 Speedhorse™, is amazingly fast to set up.

RIDGID's new 16 Gallon NXT Wet/Dry Vac with Detachable Blower RT1600

Contractor Version Of Popular 2-in-1 Vac

RIDGID® has announced the introduction of the Model RT1600 professional wet dry vac, which is a heavy duty version of the company's 16 gallon wet dry vacuum with a detachable blower. We haven't been able to find it in stores yet. This is both a shop vac and a blower all in one. Among its best features are an 8-foot premium locking hose (2-1/2") that won't pull loose during use, and is four times more durable than a standard hose. The large capacity, rugged construction, and excellent mobility are ideal for cabinet installers. It has plenty of power (6.5 HP), and a two-piece very tough polypropylene drum. On casters for mobility, it also has a large drain for emptying water. And its Scroll Noise Reduction® is a patented feature that provides quieter operation by precisely controlling the flow of air through the vac. There's an accessory storage caddy, and a quick release cord wrap for the 20-foot cord.

Free Plans for a Toolchest

Rockler Woodworking and Hardware has added five new products to its modular Lock-Align Drawer Organizer System. A pack of two Lock-Align wall brackets let users take storage bins from a drawer and hang them on the wall, avoiding clutter on the bench. They can hold up to five standard-size bins. Next is a pack of two 4-Way Divider Bins, which includes standard-size Lock-Align storage bins plus slip-in inserts that subdivide each bin into four smaller compartments. A new Wide Bin fits in the Lock-Align Wide Tray and provides portable storage for larger items, or greater quantities. And a new Liner is made from the same textured synthetic rubber as the Lock-Align trays and can be trimmed to fit, with scissors. Like the trays, the Liner has a grid pattern molded into the underside to serve as a cutting guide. Rockler is also offering a free downloadable plan for a tool chest designed to fit Lock-Align system components, at

Milwaukee® Upgrades its Entire M18™ System

Milwaukee® Upgrades its M18 System

Milwaukee Tool is extending its range of M18 REDLITHIUM™ HIGH OUTPUT™ batteries and introducing the first M18 & M12™ Super Charger. The new battery packs will join the company’s current HD12.0 and XC6.0 offerings, establishing new top tiers of performance for the XC (Extended Capacity) and CP (Compact) battery segments. According to the company, the new high output batteries provide 50% more power, run 50% cooler, and offer increased run-time over standard M18 batteries, and are compatible with the entire system of more than 175 tools. They let users experience faster application speeds and fade-free power in all three segments (CP, XC, and HD) without having to invest in an entirely new system. They are supported by advanced charging capability with the new Super Charger.

A Well Connected Worklight

The new portable, cordless Bosch GLI18V-1200C is an 18V LED area light with Bluetooth®, and it gives a woodworker full control over the smart light using a mobile device. An installer can turn the floodlight on and off remotely, dim it to the desired brightness, put it on a timer and even check the battery, all from Bosch's free Toolbox app. The light can be controlled from up to 100 feet away, and the app can manage several lights at the same time. Built for the jobsite, the GLI18V features a protective roll cage and an IP64-rated cover that's resistant to dust and water damage. The 1,200 lumen floodlight provides plenty of light for large work areas, and it has a fade-in function to avoid flash blinding co-workers. It's also equipped with an 800-lumen dimmed mode for longer runtime (up to 17 hours on one of the company's CORE18V 8.0 Ah batteries, or up to 10.6 hours at full 1,200-lumen brightness). And there's a 1/4"-20 thread mount for putting it on a tripod, or a user has five set-up choices just using the built-in roll frame.

Two new router bases from MicroFence

New Bosch, Festool Bases from MicroFence

Micro Fence brings unprecedented accuracy and control to handheld routers, including guides for straightline, circular and elliptical work. The company creates custom bases for a shop's existing routers, so those tools can be updated with Micro Fence guide jigs. They have just introduced one for Bosch's new GKF12V Cordless trimmer, making it a lot easier to do laminate trimming, hinge mortising, fluting, grooving and inlay work. The factory model has no holes to mount a guide, so Micro fence designed an acrylic sub-base that works with the company's Edge Guide or Circle Jig, and provides mounting options from either side of the motor. There's also a new sub-base for the largest Festool 2200 router , so it can be equipped with MF's Ellipse and Interface Packages. The eight inch diameter was a little large for the existing Universal Router Plate.

Construction Calculator Update

Calculated Industries' new Advanced Tape feature is now available on five apps that mirror CI construction calculators (shown). The function lets a woodworker display, review, save and email inputs, descriptions and calculated values for many of the functions on the Apps. It keeps track of measurements, cut lists and other figures, and records inputs and outputs for saving as a file to archive, or to send as an attached PDF. It is available for the Construction Master Pro (CMP), Construction Master 5, Pipe Trades Pro, Qualifier Plus IIIx and the Measure Master Pro. An example of how it can be used is on a stairs, where one can input the floor-to-floor rise and any horizontal constraints and let the CMP figure out the rest. The app provides the riser height, how many risers, tread width, number of treads, stairwell opening, the stringer length and stair angle of incline.
